Adventure Ten: life happens

Good afternoon, readers! Well, I haven’t been on in quite some time. However, I am ecstatic to be back. Let’s catch everybody up on my life. I graduated from Scott, and finished my first semester at St. Ambrose. Feeling super proud!

After graduation, Sam and I took a trip to Florida (more to come in the next post). We spent 7 days there and enjoyed every last bit of it.

At the beginning of the summer, I struggled while trying to find a job! Being a college student and finding something that falls into your field, is a lot harder than it seems. Be fear no more, for a part time job I now teach children in China (via webcam and an interactive program) English. The hours are quite early. I work at 5 a.m. Crazy! I know. Lol. It’s been very rewarding so far.

The rest of my summer has been spent with friends and family on the river, by the pool, and doing stuff with my dog. I can’t wait to update everyone in future posts. Stay tuned!!

Adventure Eight: taking a break

This last week has been extremely overwhelming. From homework, to car problems. Sam and I have both been loaded up on homework, I guess that’s what we get for taking 18 credit hours. However, his is even more intense right now. It seems like most of the time we are in the library, or we are even spending our weekends at home, on the couch doing homework. Needless to say, we’ve both been pretty stressed out. But, at the end of the day, we are always there to remind each other that we will always have each other and that we will get through it.

This weekend we decided to take some time out for ourselves. On Friday, we took Ace to downtown Davenport. We let him run around, and we attempted to play fetch with him. Ace likes to run and get the ball and then never bring it back to you, he would rather just sprint around in circles with it. When he wasn’t doing that, he was trying to run right into Sam or I. Yeah, that’s his idea of playing. But, it was fun, relaxing, and a nice break from school work. After we took Ace back home, we ended up relaxing at home and doing a little more homework.

On Saturday we had a little date night. We went to Riverside (my favorite restaurant) for dinner, and then a couple of friends joined us for drinks after. Once we left there, we headed to a birthday for the night. It was enjoyable to get ready, and go spend time with people that we don’t get to see a lot. Now, we are back to school and back to spending most of our time dedicated to homework.

We are both so excited for fall so that we can go hiking and sit by a fire. However, I am looking forward to winter so that we can get out snowboarding again!!
